Tim Holder

… in honor of your untiring commitment & support,

we present you with the Hope Center Oliver Award.

With affection and sincere gratitude, it is our pleasure to present the first Oliver Award to Tim Holder.   Tim is known to be considerate, thoughtful, and generous.  Often the bearer of unexpected gifts, I remember the day he arrived at Hope Center carrying a gift bag with pajamas and a matching bathrobe—the exact size a patient needed.

Tim’s ingenuity and glass artistry heralded many successful fundraising events that help support our services.  We thank you, Tim, for your friendship and for giving hope to us and others during the past 15 years.

It defies logic that you can fit that much compassion, creativity, tenacity and generosity into someone who is only 5' 7 inches tall.

Gary Young

I think of you as being like a tree with limbs of other trees grafted onto it—apple, peach, pear, plum, cherry, and more.  Each limb bears its own special fruit yet remains part of the whole.

Tim, my friend, you are like the tree but you are more than the sum of your parts.

When I think about Tim Holder, I also think about how his last name truly fits the spirit of the man.   Tim is genuinely caring, sincerely loving, and unfailingly supportive.  So for me,  his last name always transforms into Hold"her”, Hold"him”, Hold"them”, Hold"us”.   He has AllState beat by a mile!

Anne Kinggard

He's always been there no matter what.

To Our Dear Friend Tim -- you can come and cook in our kitchen anytime you want!

In a world where people can be so cruel and unthinking, Tim Holder personifies grace, caring and love.  His gentle and honest nature make him a best friend to everyone who meets him.  He has found a place in my heart and I am a better person for having him there.

Lennie Robertson

Over the past three years, I have literally been smitten by the sweetness of Tim.  He is the kindest hearted person I know.  He's one of those people that you meet and you know you'll always have as a  friend.   This town and this world is a better place because of Tim.

Jenny Hines

With a smile and a hug, he does whatever it takes to make it happen.   Thank you to a most creative maestro and artiste.

 Stan Boling

Tim has the personality to be everyone’s “soul-mate” because he connects to each person’s individual situation in life.  I felt connected to Tim the very first time that I met him, which was shortly after I lost my son to AIDS.  I think Tim actually felt my pain.

After I got to know Tim better, I realized what an exemplary personality he possessed.  He helped  me cope with my loss with his fun attitude and  nice, quiet demeanor.

Loads of Love, Mabel Moyers

How much I enjoy my collection of

Christmas ornaments  ...  Unpacking them each year is a gift and makes my Christmas special.  Because of your generosity, they benefited my favorite charity – Hope Center.  Tim, you are a talented artist.

Marianne Greene

Tim's motivation to create the stained glass artwork for the Hope Center came from local television personality Bill Williams who lost a son to AIDS.

He talked about the ominous fear we all  feel about HIV and pointed out there  isn't one of us who can solve the problem.  He said the

thing to do is think about

 what you can do.

 'Think small,' he said.

I have held onto those words for years now, simply thinking of what I can do."
